DAY 6

DAY 6

Howdy and welcome back to the Crazy Legs Jones blog.

Some sucess in terms of getting some training in and I have just returned from a jaunt around the lovely Thetford Forest on my bike and did some ten miles of single track cycling. Due to the recent weather last week this will undoubtebly end up in me leaving muddy clothes and a trail of mud around the house much to Louise my wife's annoyance.

Anyway also managed a 5 mile ish run in just over fory minutes so this was also good. I return to the gym tomorow and will need to ensure that my sequinned lycra runnig shorts are available but it shoud end up in me doing the full 10k or six miles in the UK on the treadmill which just happens to be the most boring ways to do it but allows for good diatnce meausurement and a good bench marking for times.
Now that we have entered the bliss that is Brittsh Summertime I am hoping to get out there more over the next few weeks which will be great. Well that's all follks for now and will update a again soon.

Day 3

Day 3

Success.. I am now not with blister as the inevitable happened yesterday. I think this is one of those Kennedy moments.. where were you when it happened? Perhaps I exaggerate a little but thankfully I am now able to get out there and pound the streets looking cool whilst I do it.
Alas there was no fanfare or Hong Kong Fuey style ticker tape. As I left the house for my first run of the campaign there was just that horrible light rain that soaks you through although it never appears to fall hard enough to do so... weird. Anyway I braved the elements and went out on a short but brisk RUN......YIPPPEEEE.

I think today I covered 3.5miles which is not a huge distance but just enough to feel like a run so that's good. It was measured officially by my trusty sports watch as 25.38 minutes.
However I need to begin to return to the indoor Lycra hell that is the gym which has been useful over the winter to keep things ticking over. This I am sure will help improve things alongside getting into in the routine of being able to run again.
Tomorow could well be another day of lost training due to a friend coming to town so I may not now run again until Sunday or Monday but will endeavour to update you on all things Crazy Legs Jones related in between.
Again I have had more money posted at www.justgiving.com/chrisjones11 so again a big huge thanks to all that have done this so far and to all those that may well do so in the future you're all great.
Anyway DONT PUSH ME ADRIENNE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I trust I leave all waiting with bated breath for the next episode.
Until then it's goodbye from me and from him.

Day 2

Day 2

Today's training was put on hold due to urge to eat a greasy big fry up in frustration at the very painful fifty pence sized blister which is still the cause of much fascination at it's size and contempt that it has not yet ceased in making me walk like Egor.

However in the modern age in which we live I am now enjoying the comfort of the Thousand Mile socks ( The sugeestion for the socks came from Amelia who works with my wife Louise so cheers Amelia capital suggestion).......the socks were created by sports scientists to ensure that I do not get another one but also they have padding to ensuring that my limp whilst blister infected is at least limited.

Tomorrows intention is to get back onto the metaphorical running horse and start again. This has become ever more important for two reasons really.

Firtsly the urge to ensure peak fitness to ensure that I am able run round kings Lynn as quickly as possible and the fact that four very kind people have now sponsored me at the following web page www.justgiving.com/chrisjones11 so a big huge thanks to those who have done this so far you know who you are.

Secondly I now have some brand new sports clothing to try out so not only will I be training again but will be looking good whilst doing so...... although perhaps only in my head.

Anyway enough of this guff already as Forest Gump Said "I just felt like running"

I am sure that there is no one that can wait for tomorow's thrillng installment this is the blog eveyone's talking about it.

Until tomorow then......

Day 1

Day 1

Hi There,

I started my training slowly with a big fifty pence sized blister on the bottom of my best running foot and am currently in training for my run and it will take dedication, stamina and a strong resolve so let me do all the work whilst you take all the glory of doing something good with your hard earned cash. I appreciate that at the moment cash is scarce and hard to come by...but just because the economy is slowing down... does not mean I have to ...so please donate as little or as much as you can.

Please be part of my attempt to run 10k in under 50 minutes... any suggestions for costumes I could run in will be gratefully received and then ignored but give it a go anyway. I am running in memory of Louise's grandad and a freind's father
I will update the pictures on this page at regular intervals so you can see my progress of working towards body beautiful.... ha ha I wish.
